iCloud and sync

Optional sync between your Apple devices.

iCloud is optional

Ambar works fully on iPhone without iCloud. Enable sync only if you want the same data on another iPhone or iPad with the same Apple account.

Local first, cloud second

Changes are saved on the device first. CloudKit syncs in the background when there is a network and iCloud is available. Sync may therefore take a few minutes.

What can delay sync

  • Unstable or slow internet connection
  • Low Power Mode
  • Many attachments or large documents
  • iCloud temporarily unavailable

Item does not appear on another device

  1. Confirm both devices use the same Apple ID.
  2. Check that iCloud is enabled in Ambar and in system settings.
  3. Connect to Wi‑Fi and wait a few minutes.
  4. Open the app on the other device to force an update.
  5. If the app has a "Sync now" action, use it after connecting to the network.

Deleted item reappears

Sometimes a deleted item may reappear if another device has not yet synced the deletion. Open the app on all devices with a stable network and wait for sync to complete. If it persists, contact support.

iCloud vs Care Circle

iCloud syncs your data between your devices on the same Apple account. Care Circle shares data between different people in Ambar. They are separate mechanisms.
