Care Circle

Ongoing sharing between trusted people — different from .ambar export or sharing a subscription.

What is it?

Care Circle lets authorized people view and help keep health data up to date in Ambar — for example a caregiver and a family member.

Creating a folder about someone does not prove their identity or make you their legal representative.

Data vs subscription

Sharing a Family subscription via Apple does not share health data. They are independent: one is payment, the other is access to information in the app.

Your profile and family profiles

You can have your main profile and, when applicable, profiles of family members you help — each with its own permissions.

Caregivers

A caregiver is someone invited who can view or edit parts of a profile, according to permissions you set.

Permissions

When inviting someone, you choose what they can see or change. Review permissions regularly and remove access when no longer needed.

Verified vs unverified profile

In the MVP, Ambar does not verify ID documents. An "unverified" profile means identity was not confirmed by the app — be careful accepting invites from strangers.

Fraud prevention

  • Accept invites only from people you know.
  • Be wary of urgent health data requests by message.
  • Confirm identity through another channel before granting broad access.

How to remove access

In Care Circle settings, you can revoke pending invites or remove active members at any time.

For one-time sharing (no ongoing sync), see .ambar files.
